    Implementation context:<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Located at an altitude of more than 1,000m above sea level, Ban Moi village is one of the particularly difficult villages of Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province. Currently, Ban Moi village has 103 households with 488 people, of which 18 are poor and near-poor households, Mong ethnic people account for 99%. The domestic water supply system for people in the village was invested in and built in 2008. Currently, after a period of use, the project has been degraded, damaged and has not been repaired, making the shortage of domestic water for people here even more serious. More specifically, this project is also a source of domestic water for 844 students (100% of ethnic minority children) and 50 staff and teachers of Suoi Giang Primary and Secondary School located in Pang Cang village, Suoi Giang commune. The problem of lack of domestic water is becoming extremely urgent and there is no way out for the people here.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    The domestic water supply system of Ban Moi village is damaged and degraded.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

    The lack of clean water for daily use has severely impacted people's lives, forcing them to rely on polluted and unsanitary water sources. Consuming contaminated water leads to serious illnesses such as eye infections, kidney stones, gastrointestinal diseases, and gynecological conditions\u2014most commonly affecting women and children. According to local statistics, the incidence of these diseases among women and children has increased compared to previous years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    To access water for daily use, households in Ban Moi village have to fetch water from sources 3-4 km away or rely on drilled wells, which are often unsanitary. Women, in particular, spend a significant amount of time collecting water for their families, leaving them with less time to care for their children and themselves, ultimately reducing their quality of life.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

    People have to use unsanitary water every day.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

    At the primary and secondary boarding school, 844 students and 50 staff members are struggling to cope by using water from drilled wells. However, this supply is still insufficient for daily needs. As a result, they have had to reuse wastewater for cleaning and maintaining the students' restrooms.\"Due to the lack of clean water, students have no choice but to use wastewater to flush the toilets. The restrooms are new, but they can\u2019t be used properly because there\u2019s no water.\" \u2013 shared Tran Thi Huong, the school's vice principal.<\/p>\n

    2. Project implementation period: From August, 2021 to June, 2022.<\/h4>\n

    3. Method of project implementation:<\/h3>\n

    \u2013 Assign the residents of Ban Moi village to implement the project under a community-managed model, overseeing the entire execution process.<\/p>\n

    \u2013 Local authorities at all levels, Hoc Mon Ceporer and Long Thanh Commune Red Cross Society provide support in methods and techniques.<\/p>\n

    II. ACHIEVEMENTS:<\/h2>\n

    With financial support from Peterson Control Union Group and the participation of the MoMo e-wallet community, under the **Water Ambassador** Program, the Institute for Sustainable Development Management Research (MSD) collaborated with the RIC Center to build a clean water facility in Ban Moi village, Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province.<\/p>\n
