    Implementation context:<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Lack of clean water, disease surrounds 534 people in Cham hamlet, Hoa Binh province<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Located 30 km northwest of the district center of Da Bac, Cham village is an especially disadvantaged area in Tan Minh commune, with 127 households (534 residents) living there, all of whom are from the Tay ethnic group. Poor and near-poor households make up the majority in the village, accounting for 56.3% (56 poor households and 36 near-poor households), with children making up 26.9% of the population. The main occupations of the residents are agricultural and forestry production, as well as small-scale livestock farming.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

    The water supply system in the village was built in 2011, but after many years of use, the infrastructure has deteriorated and is severely damaged, no longer providing enough water for all 127 households in the village. Currently, the system can only serve 50% of the households, and the remaining families must find small, separate water sources for their needs. Particularly, around 30 households at the lower end of the village and one preschool (with 100 students) located on the steep mountain slopes of the village frequently face severe water shortages.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \"\"The water tank is seriously damaged, the water in the tank is seeping out.<\/em><\/p>\n

    During hot weather days, when the demand for water is high, the teachers take turns going to nearby households to ask for water for the children's daily activities and hygiene. Often, they have to use unsafe water sources, which significantly increases the risk of gastrointestinal and skin diseases among the students.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \"Every day, each parent takes turns bringing 10 liters of water for the children to use at school. On days when the water runs out and there's not enough to use, the teachers come to my house to ask for water for the children. It's really difficult.\"<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Mr. Luong Van Noi, a resident of Cham hamlet, Tan Minh commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province, shared about the current serious water shortage in Cham hamlet in general and Tan Minh Kindergarten in particular.\u00a0<\/p>\n
