After a period of construction, the domestic water supply facility in the Ong Ca area, Hamlet 1, Long Thanh Commune, Long An Province (now Hamlet 3, Tan Long Commune, Tay Ninh Province) has been officially completed and become operational. MSD United Way Vietnam, in coordination with the Hoc Mon Sponsorship Association and the Long Thanh Commune Red Cross Society, organized a Handover Ceremony for the facility, providing a clean water source for 25 households. <\/span>This is the third water system built and transferred to the local community by the MSD's Water Ambassador Project, reaffirming its long-term commitment to partnering with the people of Long Thanh to improve access to clean water and sanitation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"\"<\/a>Previously, the Ong Ca area, part of a remote commune, was frequently affected by flooding. The primary sources of water for daily use were rainwater and water from polluted rivers and canals. The image of mothers and grandmothers saving every bucket of rainwater, and children growing up with murky river water, was a constant source of worry about health and disease. Although state funding had supported the drilling of wells, completing the system (such as constructing concrete pillars, installing storage tanks and filtration systems) was beyond the financial means of many local households.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Understanding these hardships, MSD United Way Vietnam and its partners have officially handed over the domestic water facility to the community in the Ong Ca area. The project now brings clean water directly to each household, allowing residents to use it safely for their daily activities, thereby contributing to improved health and a better quality of life. Notably, 751 students at local schools will also benefit from this clean water source.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
