A New Page of Life – Together We Go to School kicked off the new school year by providing gifts to support 220 orphaned children due to COVID-19 and those from disadvantaged backgrounds in Ho Chi Minh City. This activity is part of the "A New Page of Life" project and the "Going to School is No Longer a Wish" campaign, aimed at helping these children continue their education and overcome the challenges caused by the pandemic.
MSD United Way Vietnam, in collaboration with the Tan Binh District Youth Union, Binh Chanh District Youth Union, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Women's Union, the Department of Education and Training of the District, the Youth Worker Support Center, and the Social Work Center, organized a gift-giving event to support 220 children in Ho Chi Minh City.
1. MSD United Way Vietnam, in collaboration with the Tan Binh District Youth Union, organized a gift-giving event for children orphaned by COVID-19 on the occasion of the new school year and Mid-Autumn Festival on the morning of September 12, 2024.
At the event, we personally handed over the gift packages to the children. These gifts are messages of encouragement from MSD United Way and the community, with the hope of bringing the children a brighter and happier new school year filled with hope.
Ms. Van Anh - Chairwoman and Co-founder of MSD UWV, said: "With the initiative 'A New Page of Life – Together We Go to School,' we focus on one important thing: Education. Education is not just about knowledge, but also about the opportunity for children to write brighter chapters in their lives. Children with special circumstances, orphaned by COVID, still face many challenges on their journey to school. But we believe that when the community comes together, all obstacles can be overcome."
Campaign Ambassador, MC LIEU HA TRINH"Thirty years ago, I was the same age as you, eagerly waiting to receive gifts for the new school year and for Mid-Autumn Festival. Today, after many efforts, I have grown and am able to help you experience that same pure joy. And just like me, you too can strive to one day return and help inspire other children."
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Yen Nhi, Brand Manager of Andros Fruit Me Up, shared: "Andros hopes that these small juice packs and candies will bring sweet joy to the children this Mid-Autumn Festival, and help them continue to feel confident and keep striving on their educational journey."
The smiles on the children's faces, along with their happiness in preparing for a well-equipped journey to school, serve as a great source of motivation for MSD and our co-organizing partners to continue implementing more meaningful projects for the children in the future.
2. Continuing the "Together We Go to School" gift-giving series for over 220 children from disadvantaged backgrounds and orphaned by COVID-19 in Ho Chi Minh City, on September 14, MSD United Way Vietnam, in collaboration with the Youth Worker Support Center (YEAC), provided educational and nutritional gift packages to 21 children at the center.
At the event, the children received meaningful gifts including shoes, school supplies, study lamps to prepare for the new school year, as well as nutritional gifts such as juice and gummy candies. The joy was made even more complete as the children participated in a Mid-Autumn Lantern procession, celebrating a full and meaningful moon season together.
The simple yet pure dreams of the children were truly moving. One child, who couldn’t attend school due to family circumstances, shared: "I want all children in difficult situations to be able to go to school." This heartfelt remark serves as motivation for MSD United Way Vietnam to continue striving to bring more essential educational gifts to children in need.
MSD United Way Vietnam hopes that these educational gifts will be a valuable source of encouragement, empowering the children to stay strong on their educational journey. No matter how difficult the circumstances, we hope they will remain persistent with their studies, holding on to the belief in a brighter future ahead.
