GROUNDBREAKING CEREMORY FOR THE WATER AMBASSADOR PROJECT AT NHONG VEN RESETTLEMENT SITE

The Nhong Ven resettlement site, located in Un Village, Song Khua Commune, Van Ho District, Son La Province, is home to more than 50 households and a school, with a total population of 331 people. The community is facing a severe shortage of clean water. Currently, residents have to source water from small mountain springs and manually pipe it to their homes. However, this water supply is not only insufficient, especially during the dry season, but also unhygienic, posing risks of skin and intestinal diseases.
On December 18, 2024, as part of the "Water Ambassador" project, the groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation of the domestic water supply system at the Nhong Ven resettlement site, Song Khua Commune, Vân Hồ District, Son La Province, took place in the presence and anticipation of local residents. The ceremony was also attended by representatives from RIC Vietnam and local authorities. After a period of discussions and planning with the community, the water supply project officially commenced with the following key components:
– Construction of a 43.2 m³ reinforced concrete storage tank.
– Installation of a 250 - meter main connection pipeline.
