Last week, the atmosphere at the Social Work – Vocational Education Center for Adolescents in Ho Chi Minh City was filled with joy and excitement as the Opening Ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year took place. More than just an event, it marked a new beginning—a promising journey ahead for children living in especially difficult circumstances.
Seeing the students in their crisp white shirts and blue trousers, sitting attentively with eyes sparkling with anticipation on their very first day, filled our hearts with warmth and renewed hope. Every smile, every look of eagerness is a powerful reminder of why MSD United Way Vietnam and the Center remain steadfast in this mission. We are especially delighted to support the continuation of three classes (two first-grade classes and one second-grade class) for about 35 children at the Center, helping to light the way on their educational journey.
Each carefully written word, every challenging math problem, and every practical life skills lesson becomes part of the invaluable foundation that the Social Work Center and MSD United Way Vietnam wish to provide these children. Here, they not only gain knowledge and vocational training to strengthen their future, but also receive counseling, care, and a safe space to share their voices. We consistently work to connect with organizations and authorities to deliver holistic support, empowering children to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and discover brighter paths ahead.
The Social Work Center is not only a place of care, management, education, and nurturing, but truly a home that nurtures the future of disadvantaged adolescents aged 8 to under 16—many of whom are homeless and without stable shelter. Beyond providing education and daily care, the Center also offers psychological counseling, emotional healing, and connections to essential social welfare services, ensuring that children and their families can overcome hardships and move toward more stable, sustainable lives.
