MSD United Way Vietnam is pleased to announce that the clean water supply project serving 354 residents of Khuoi Luong Village, Cao Bo Commune, Vi Xuyen District, Ha Giang Province has officially broken ground. This milestone marks an important step in our ongoing efforts to bring sustainable access to clean water to disadvantaged highland communities.
Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Clean Water Supply Project
All construction materials and equipment have now been fully mobilized. The project will include the construction of two water intake sources, headwater storage and filtration tanks, and a water pipeline system supplying clean water to the kindergarten site and households in Team 2 area using HDPE Tien Phong pipes (diameter 45 mm, approximately 1,500 meters in length). In addition, the project will repair and upgrade an existing water storage tank at the kindergarten, which has been damaged, and install water meters for 13 households in Team 2 and one kindergarten site.

For many years, residents of Khuoi Luong Village have faced severe water shortages due to the area’s steep mountainous terrain, lack of underground water sources, and heavy reliance on small streams. Once completed, the project will provide a stable and sustainable source of clean water, helping improve daily living conditions, ensure hygiene, reduce the burden of water collection, and create a safer learning environment for children at the kindergarten.

MSD United Way Vietnam sincerely extends its gratitude to the community of MoMo users, with 42,149 individual contributions, as well as to RIC Vietnam Center and the local authorities of Cao Bo Commune for their close cooperation and support. This collective effort not only addresses an urgent need for clean water but also contributes to improving health outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and promoting sustainable development in highland communities.

Throughout the construction process, project progress and key updates will be shared regularly with donors and supporters. MSD United Way Vietnam looks forward to continued companionship from the community in bringing clean water to the people of Khuoi Luong Village and to other underserved communities across Vietnam.
