In December, MSD United Way Vietnam, with the generous support of donors through the MoMo Super App, continued its recovery efforts at Thach Giam Town Secondary School in Nghe An Province. The interventions focused on strengthening safe living and learning conditions, helping students maintain uninterrupted access to education while supporting the school’s gradual recovery and adaptation after the impacts of natural disasters.

After a year heavily affected by floods and storms, the school is now entering a more stable phase. At this stage, support efforts go beyond immediate relief, becoming a foundation that enables teachers and students to regain stability and confidence in their daily learning and living environment.
By the end of December, 45 students from disadvantaged backgrounds continued to access safe boarding education at school. Nutritious boarding meals were provided consistently, ensuring students had sufficient energy to study, stay healthy during the cold winter months, and reduce risks associated with traveling to and from school.

In addition, warm blankets, mattresses, and pillows proved especially meaningful as temperatures dropped. These items not only improved students’ physical comfort but also provided a sense of security, allowing them to rest well and engage more fully in afternoon classes.

Alongside these efforts, the clean water system, including storage tanks and water filters, has been operating steadily, serving nearly 600 students and teachers on a daily basis. Access to safe water has significantly improved hygiene and living conditions, while helping prevent post-disaster health risks.
The positive outcomes at Thach Giam reflect the power of long-term accompaniment—moving beyond emergency relief toward strengthening community resilience and recovery after disasters. MSD United Way Vietnam extends its sincere gratitude to the donor community on the MoMo Super App, as well as partners and supporters who have continued this journey with quiet dedication and perseverance.

While the recovery journey continues, in December, the path to school for children in Thach Giam has become steadier—and their dreams of learning now rest on a stronger, more secure foundation.
