Following the severe floods in 2025, many schools across the South Central Coast and Central Highlands, particularly in Dak Lak (formerly part of Phu Yen) and Khanh Hoa, suffered significant damage to their infrastructure. Floodwaters disrupted electrical systems and lighting equipment, affecting teaching and learning conditions when students returned to school.

Under the “Joining Hands to Overcome the Flood Disasters” project, MSD United Way Vietnam implemented support activities to restore safe learning environments. A total of over 8,900 lighting devices were delivered to 94 schools across the two provinces, with distribution taking place on January 12–13 in Dak Lak and January 20–21 in Khanh Hoa. In addition, 227 school backpacks were provided to students at Dien Khanh Town Primary School No.1, helping them return to school with adequate learning materials.

From restoring lighting systems to providing essential school supplies, the support addresses both immediate recovery needs and long-term learning continuity. Ensuring proper lighting and learning conditions enables students to resume their education without prolonged disruption after the floods.
