Training on "Health and Psychological Care for Children and Adolescents in the Context of Natural Disasters and Floods" for 45 teachers at An Lạc Kindergarten and Động Quan Primary School, Lục Yên District, Yên Bái Province.

As part of the "Together We Overcome the Flood Season - For a Resilient Vietnam" campaign, on January 16, 2025, MSD United Way Vietnam successfully organized a training session titled "Health and Psychological Care for Children and Adolescents in the Context of Natural Disasters and Floods." The program was held at An Lạc Kindergarten and Động Quan Primary School, Yên Bái Province.

The training session was attended by Dr. Nguyen Thu Giang, Deputy Director of the Institute for Public Health Development, Ánh Sáng, one of the leading experts in adolescent health, and Mrs. Dương Thị Hoa, program manager for gender at the Ánh Sáng Institute for Public Health Development. With their extensive experience, the two experts provided practical and useful content, combining theory and practice, to help teachers identify and address psychological and health issues faced by children in difficult circumstances, especially during natural disasters and floods.

The activity aims to equip teachers with basic knowledge and skills to recognize signs of psychological and health trauma in children and adolescents, while also sharing methods for care, support, and guidance to help children overcome the psychological trauma caused by natural disasters.
The program not only enhances the capacity of teachers but also contributes to spreading the message of timely care and attention for the future generation, especially in areas severely affected by natural disasters like Yen Bai province.
In particular, the training group had the opportunity to participate in making bánh chưng (traditional rice cakes) with the children at An Lạc Kindergarten and Động Quan Primary School. In the joyful atmosphere of the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, the children and their families wore colorful traditional costumes, making bánh chưng together and recreating the unique cultural beauty of the region. This was not only a meaningful experience but also left unforgettable memories for the training group.
