EVENT OF DONATING 10,000 PINK MEALS AND SUPPLIES TO RECOVER FROM THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY TYPHOON YAGI 2024 AT AN LAC KINDERGARTEN

On January 17, 2025, at An Lac Kindergarten in Luc Yen District, Yen Bai Province, MSD United Way Vietnam successfully organized the program “Donation of 10,000 Pink Meals and Supplies to Recover from the Damage Caused by Typhoon Yagi 2024." The event took place in a joyful and warm atmosphere ahead of the Lunar New Year. It was part of the campaign “Help Children Overcome Typhoon Yagi – For a Resilient Vietnam” launched by MSD United Way Vietnam to provide emergency relief and recovery support for children and families affected by Typhoon Yagi.

At the event, MSD United Way Vietnam donated 10,000 "Pink Meals" —nutritious lunch portions—for 50 students from disadvantaged backgrounds whose families suffered severe losses due to Typhoon Yagi throughout the 2025 school year. The "Pink Meal" project was launched by the MoMo App from December 4, 2024, to January 4, 2025, with the goal of providing "10,000 nutritious lunches" containing meat, fish, vegetables, fiber, vitamins, protein, and starch for "50 students at An Lac Kindergarten throughout 2025."

Mrs. Tran Van Anh, President of MSD United Way Vietnam Social Enterprise, shared: "After Typhoon Yagi, we deeply understand the difficulties that families and schools have faced. With the goal of supporting local communities in overcoming the aftermath of the storm and ensuring that children can return to school in a safe environment, MSD United Way Vietnam has implemented many practical support activities. Today, we are delighted to donate essential supplies and equipment to An Lac Kindergarten to help with post-typhoon recovery. In particular, MSD United Way Vietnam, together with the MoMo Super App, is supporting the "Pink Meal" project, providing "10,000 nutritious meals" to improve children's health and ensure the best learning conditions for them. We hope that these contributions will help alleviate some of the difficulties faced by the school and families, creating a more effective and well-equipped educational environment for the children.”

On behalf of An Lac Kindergarten, Mrs. Vuong Thi Khuyen, the school’s principal, shared her heartfelt gratitude: "We sincerely thank MSD United Way Vietnam for connecting with benefactors to organize a training session on "Healthcare and Psychological Support for Children and Adolescents in the Context of Natural Disasters and Storms" and for donating "10,000 meals" to 50 disadvantaged children affected by the storm. Additionally, we deeply appreciate the donation of classroom supplies, toys, and the creation of a commemorative mural for our school. These meaningful contributions have helped us overcome difficulties, stabilize learning and daily activities for the children, and maintain the school’s operations.”

Additionally, MSD United Way Vietnam provided essential kitchen equipment and replaced damaged items after the storm, including a blanket storage cabinet, towel racks, cup holders, 100 artificial grass mats, 138 stainless steel meal trays for students, and a large meat grinder "to support the school’s meal preparation. The donation also included essential cooking ingredients such as "cooking oil and fish sauce". Furthermore, a "mural painting project" with the theme "Join LU in Protecting the Environment!" is being rapidly completed to create a clean, beautiful, and welcoming playground and schoolyard, ensuring that every school day is a joyful experience for the children.
