INAUGURATION OF 02 RESTROOMS AT ĐỘNG QUAN PRIMARY SCHOOL (VILLAGES 1 & 10), LỤC YÊN DISTRICT, YÊN BÁI PROVINCE

After nearly two months of intensive construction, on May 19, two new restroom facilities at the Động Quan Primary School campus were officially inaugurated and opened for use. This marks a significant improvement in providing a safer and more hygienic learning environment for over 200 children in this remote, highland region.
Until recently, both students and teachers had to rely on makeshift restroom facilities that were neither safe nor sanitary. The situation worsened significantly after Typhoon Yagi, further deteriorating the infrastructure and disrupting daily activities—ultimately undermining the overall learning experience.
With the support of MSD United Way Vietnam and our partners, as part of the “Joining Hands to Overcome Typhoon Yagi – For a Resilient Vietnam” project, two brand-new, fully equipped and gender-segregated bathrooms have been constructed. These facilities provide essential safety, hygiene, and privacy for primary school students.
At the inauguration ceremony, teachers, parents, students, and MSD UWV representatives came together to capture joyful moments in photos, exchange heartfelt appreciation, and enjoy performances by the children. The students expressed great excitement at using the fresh, clean facilities for the first time and promised to take good care of them. They feel proud and grateful that their school environment is now more furnished.
MSD United Way Vietnam would like to express our gratitude to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam, Dutch Business Association Vietnam – DBAV, JOY Foundation, Zalopay, Kocham Vietnam, SEMO VINA, and all partners and benefactors for joining hands in our mission. Together, we have created a safer and more supportive learning environment for the students. Through this project, MSD United Way Vietnam and our partners aim not only to enhance learning conditions but also to lay a firm foundation for the students’ future. The newly constructed restrooms stand as more than mere facilities—they symbolize collective effort and unwavering dedication to fostering a joyful and sustainable education.
