GROUNDBREAKING OF CLEAN WATER SUPPLY PROJECT FOR THE PEOPLE OF KHUOI LUONG VILLAGE, CAO BO COMMUNE, TUYEN QUANG PROVINCE

MSD United Way Vietnam, in collaboration with local authorities, has commenced construction on a critical clean water supply system for Khuoi Luong Village in Cao Bo Commune, Vi Xuyen District. This landmark project will provide a sustainable water source for 354 residents, transforming lives in a community long plagued by water scarcity.

All construction materials and equipment have been fully assembled. The project will include:
  1. The construction of two water intake points.
  2. The construction of headwater storage and filtration tanks.
  3. Laying approximately 1,500 meters of 45mm diameter pioneer HPDE plastic piping to transport water to the local school and households in Team 2 area.
  4. Repairing and upgrading one damaged water storage tank at the kindergarten facility.
  5. Installing water meters for 13 households in Team 2 and the kindergarten.
For years, the residents of Khuoi Luong have faced severe hardship due to the remote, mountainous terrain and lack of groundwater, relying entirely on seasonal streams. This project marks a decisive step toward water security, promising to significantly improve public health, reduce the daily burden of water collection—which falls disproportionately on women and children—and foster a safer, more conducive learning environment at the village kindergarten.
