A. BACKGROUND

 MSD United Way Vietnam is legally recognized as a social enterprise and belongs to MSD “ecosystem”. Our mission is to enhance the quality of education, increase income, and ensure a healthy life for many vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in society. These include children, youth, women, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities. We strive to achieve these goals by mobilizing community concern and strength. To support MSD United Way Vietnam (MSD UWV) team to achieve the best results, we are in need of a Communication and Fundraising Manager to support the organization.

B. ASSIGNEMENT REQUESTS

  1. Assignment purpose: The person’s primary responsibility is to ensure MSD UWV’s sustainability and development by manging the fundraising and communication activities. The main tasks are (a) to manage Partnership and Fundraising Office in HCMC; (b) to develope and execute fundraising plan of MSD UWV, specifically in digital, individual and corporate fundraising; (c) to enable and facilitate effective and timely implementation of communication and marketing activities;
  2. Working location: mainly in Ho Chi Minh City, with some travels to Hanoi, and some other provinces and countries when assigned.
  3. Job assigned manager and technical supporter: direct report to MSD UWV’s CEO and working closely with Board members;
  4. Supervision: Partnership and Program Manager, Communication and event officers/assistants, Interns, Volunteers.
  5. Main responsibilities:
  6. a) Develop and maintain partnerships
  • ​Together with CEO and Board develop the Partnership and Fundraising Strategy and execution;
  • Manage donor/ fundraising partner database, maintaining relations with current donors/funding partners, expanding the network with new corporate and individual philanthropists; On behalf of MSD UWV, develop and maintain good relations with digital platforms, individual and corporate partners and donors;
  • ​Manage to ensure the timely and smooth reporting mechanism: e.g. keeping the donors and funding partners updated on the projects/programs’ progress as well as reported, organizing field visits as their requested timeline;
  1. b) Develop and execute Partnership and fundraising activities:
  • ​Coordinate the fundraising and communication team in HCMC’s Office, managing and executing the fundraising activities to ensure the funding for MSD UWV as the strategy, plan and KPIs;
  • Together with Board members and CEO or lead the writing proposals, budgets, preparing presentations, etc. for raising funds from corporate and individual donors;
  • ​Ensure the relations development with donors and partners. i.e ​draft funding agreements, prepare sponsorship and partnership proposals, presentations, infographics and design, etc.;
  • Follow news, trends and identify opportunities for suitable crowdfunding campaigns for company’s programs;
  • Maintain and develop crowd fundraising campaigns/ activities of MSD in CrowdFundraising platform such as Global Giving, Momo, Salesforce, Zalo, Thiennguyen, Benevity, etc. following up with Thank you letter, Monthly Reports, Picture and Case updated, etc.
  • Coordinate the execution of Partnership and Fundraising activities such as Annual Partnership/ Philanthropy Forum/event, MSD networking event, Impact Awards, or other partners’ events;
  • Coordinate the event team with organization of CSR/CSV conference, workshops, fundraising events, other fundraising-related events; assist in bi-year Corporate researches (CSR/ CSV/ SDG researches);
  1. c) Enable and facilitate effective and timely implementation of communication and marketing activities
  • Follow with CEO and Program Managers in corporates’ partnership program execution, ensuring the communication and documentation activities.
  • Lead in developing the Communication Strategy, create marketing and communication plans; execute public relations and marketing goals set forth in the marketing & communication plan using multiple methods;
  • Other tasks as required by CEO and Board members

  2. Travel:

This assignment may require travel to different provinces or other countries when necessary. The travel fee and perdiem will under MSD UWV’s cost norm system.

C. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree is required with background relating to Strategy Development, Governance or Management, Fundraising, Partnership, or Communication;
  • At least 3 years of Experience in Digital fundraising, Corporate Partnership, CSR/ CSV and or fundraising and communication is needed; Understanding the nature of Corporate and or CSR is necessary; Experience in NGO communication is preferred;
  • Strategic thinking and analysis; excellent leadership skills;
  • High command of written and verbal communication and presentation skills in both Vietnamese and English;
  • Design skills and professional use of design softwares like Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Powerpoint Presentation, etc.
  • Work independent and professionally; good team work; be able to represent the organization in national or international workshops, network;
  • High commitment with works; creative, determined, results-oriented, self-management, ready to learn and share.
